Opentype-SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) is a color font file that embeds additional data to a regular font file to display more graphic properties than just contour shapes. It allows for vector shapes with color and gradients, bitmap images, and even animations in a color glyph.

Note that Opentype-SVG is part of OpenType specification. Color fonts are still .otf, .ttf or .woff font files but they have different internal structure (font tables) with additional data to display multi colored glyphs.
